I don’t know what to say to wrap up this past week. My parents and bother and sister-in-law and cousin went back to their teaching jobs in CT yesterday. Thankfully none of them are at Sandy Hook. (Yes I’m from a family of teachers, all teachers – not entirely sure how I escaped, though not entirely sure I did as I subbed in college and paid for my PhD by being a TA, but anywho…) Normally this week is fun. It’s the last week before Christmas break – it’s for movies and parties and pizza (and a few last minute educational nuggets I’m sure). This year it’s going to be different. So hug your kids, but also hug the teachers in your life. They’re not having a good day.
And now, because life does go on and sugar can bring a smile. Here are some fun ones…
Candy Cane Chocolate Cookies: Soft and fudgy chocolate cookies laced with peppermint extract and topped with candy canes.
Amazing Apple Crumb Muffins: Perfect moist New York crumb cake meets apple pie. I’m super proud of this one =)

Leftover Ice Cream Cake: A fun and easy frozen dessert, plus a great way to get rid of tempting leftovers from those Christmas parties and cookies exchanges.
Christmas is almost here. I’ve collected some tempting tidbits to fit all your holiday cheer needs. Tiny bites to share at parties, popcorn for the movies, cupcakes for decorating, and cookies for that last exchange. Hope a bit of sugar helps make your season brighter (or at least temporarily energetic =p)
Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie Cups (Sally’s Baking Addiction): Chocolate and peanut butter goodness. I’m always game for that!
Oreo Cupcakes (The Hungry Mom): Cookies and cream anything is wonderful. Cupcakes are even better – and perfect size for parties =)
Caramel Marshmallow Party Popcorn (Inspire & Indulge): This one is just perfect for your holiday movie marathon. I can’t wait to try it!
Butterscotch Molasses Pudding Cookies (Crazy for Crust): I tried my first pudding cookie this week (post coming) Now that I’ve started I can really see the genius behind this one… and so Christmassy too! Bring it on =)
SO many yummy treats here! Thanks for linking to my peanut butter fudge brownie cups – I can never ever say no to peanut butter and chocolate. Those oreo cupcakes look wonderful!
Thanks, me too – Chocolate and peanut butter is my nemesis, a very tasty nemesis =p
Thanks for linking to my party popcorn! I love the inspiration behind “Temptation Tuesdays” – On my way to visit some new blogs right now!
Yay, awesome!
Thanks for sharing my butterscotch molasses cookies!
They are worth it!
